Frequently Asked Questions

Reformer Pilates

  • Hello and welcome! We are located at 99 Churchill Road, Prospect. There is plenty of street parking along Elizabeth and Rose Street as well as around the oval across from us (Charles Cane Reserve). We also have a few car parks out the front of our studio.

  • You will firstly need to make an account to purchase your first class via our website or on our Extend Studio app (coming soon and available on Android and Apple).

  • New to Pilates? Our Intro To Pilates Classes are perfect for beginners. Get started with our $49 Intro Offer. For your first class we recommend our Classic Class which covers all the basics.

  • On your first visit please arrive 5-10 minutes early. Your instructor will welcome you, show you around and give you a run down of the reformer and our equipment!

  • If a class is fully booked you have the option to join the waitlist. If you join you'll receive a notification if a spot becomes available. You'll have a two-hour window to accept or decline the invitation.

  • Unfortunately our classes do not have an itemised code attached to them, and most health insurances won’t cover group reformer pilates classes.

Some of our classes may be claimable with your private health insurance, but this depends on what level of insurance you have. It’s best to check with your insurer to find out.

  • Prior to joining our group reformer Pilates classes, we advise consulting your physio or health practitioner for approval if you have an injury. Our team is highly skilled and trained to make modifications to exercises as per your required needs. If you're unsure, please contact us before booking, and we can recommend suitable options, such as starting with some private 1:1 pilates sessions with our physio’s.

  • At Extend, our goal is to foster an inclusive community that embraces everyone. To achieve this, we provide a diverse array of small group class types designed to cater to each individual's unique preferences and needs. See our different class types under our pilates section.

  • We recommend comfy clothing that allows you to move comfortably and confidently with full range of motion. Here are some suggestions

    • Comfortable leggings, shorts or exercise pants

    • Water bottle is preferred

    • A breathable tank top/tee

    • Supportive sports bra (for women)

    • Grippy socks (preferred but not mandatory – BYO or buy a pair in-studio)

    • Hair ties for those with longer hair

    • Minimal jewellery

  • All our classes are 45 minutes. This is the perfect duration to feel like you’ve worked your muscles and leave with a spring in your step. This includes a 3-5 minute warm up and cool down, however you’re welcome to stay and do extra stretches after class (or just stay for a chat and coffee!).

  • To join our post natal pilates classes you must first book an appointment with one of our physio’s for a post natal assessment. They will go through your birth and pregnancy history, screen for any issues, check abdominal separation (DRAM) and go through some core and pelvic floor education. Once you have completed this you can start our mums and mini classes.

  • If you plan on attending pilates consistently, we recommend on of our flexible membership plans as they’re more cost effective for regular attendance. Note: all memberships have a 12-week minimum commitment.

If you’re new to pilates or just want to explore our classes before committing, start with one of our no-fuss class packs.

  • Our cancellation policy requires a minimum of 8 hours notice. If you cancel within this window, you will lose your class credit. If you forget to cancel your class and do not attend, we will mark you as a ‘no show’ resulting in a $5 fee as well as losing your class credit. Given our limited availability with only 8 spots per class, we are strict on this policy to ensure fairness and give everyone a chance to participate. For more info see our Cancellation Policy.

  • We understand that sometimes life doesn’t go to plan and we’re here to help. For emergencies and extreme unforeseen circumstances please email us and we can reinstate your class credit!

  • Well firstly, congratulations! We can’t wait to support you and your growing baby right through your pregnancy. At Extend our team are all trained in prenatal care when it comes to safely exercising.

You are more than welcome to attend all of our classes except our sweat class. A Bump, Stretch or Classic might be the way to start.

Our Bump classes are pregnancy only and are programmed by our physio’s to guide you through yourpregnancy. We use our pregnancy wedges and offer modifications so you can still feel comfortable while exercising right up until your due date!
